On October 22, 2009, a signing ceremony was held for an EPC Contract for Overhaul of 1# and 2# Blast Furnaces and a Design Contract for 1# Oxygenerator (30000m3/h) between WISDRI Engineering & Research Incorporation Ltd. (WISDRI) and Nanjing Iron & Steel United Co., Ltd. Officials present at the ceremony included: Vice Director-General Fu Gang and Vice Director-General Zhang Hongcai of Nanjing Municipal State-Owned Assets Supervision and Adminsitation Commlssion; Chairman Yang Siming, President Lv Peng and Vice President Jiang Xiaochun of Nanjing Iron & Steel United Co., Ltd.; and the relevant heads of WISDRI. Representatives of both parties signed the contracts for the blast furnace (2000m3) and the oxygenerator (30000m3/h) respectively, marking that their mutual collaboration has stepped onto a brand new height.
The design capacity of the 1# and 2# Blast Furnaces under the overhaul project is 2000m3, with an annual output of 8 million tons. The foundation works is expected to be started on November 15, 2009, and the whole project will be completed by November 30, 2010. The 1# Oxygenerator (30000m3/h) is the fourth large/medium-sized oxygen generator designed by WISDRI for Nanjing Iron & Steel United Co., Ltd., and the shop drawing is being prepared for the air separation plant.
