Dr. Jun Xu of the Oak Ridge National Laboratory was invited to make an academic visit to DICP from 25th to 27th of October. He delivered a lecture with the title of "Ion mobility spectrometry and related research at ORNL" during his stay in the institute.
Dr. Xu got his Ph. D. degree from the Vanderbilt University of USA in 1991. From then on he has been working as a research scientist at the ORNL until now. For many years, he has been focusing his research on mass spectroscopy of large molecules, mini-type analytical instruments and ion mobility spectrometry, and he is especially good at the designing of mini ion mobility spectrometers and mini ion trapping mass spectroscopes. His research results have been published mainly in the Analytical Chemistry and other journals.
