Opening of the DICP Symposium on Fuel Cells

The DICP Symposium(XVI) on Fuel Cells opened at the Lecture Hall of the Bio-Tech Building of DICP on 26 May. The Honorary Chairman of the symposium was Prof. YI Baolian, Member of CAS, and Prof. SUN Gongquan acted as the chairman.

In his opening address, Prof. ZHANG Tao, Director of DICP, gave an introduction on the National Laboratory of Clean Energy, which is to be established in DICP and is now at the preparation stage. He took this occasion to extend invitation to scholars and experts working in the fields of energy science and technology inside and outside China to join the newly established National Laboratory.

Mr. SUN Hongwei, Top Officer of the Chemistry Division, National Natural Science Foundation Commission of China, gave a talk on the opening ceremony to bid welcome to the participants of the symposium.

Plenary lectures were delivered by Prof. CHA Quanxing of Wuhan University, Prof. YI Baolian of DICP, and Prof. ZHAO Dongyuan of Fudan University, all of them Member of CAS. The other two plenary lecturers were Prof. WANG Chaoyang from Penn State University of USA and Prof. WAN Lijun, Director of CAS Institute of Chemistry.

A total of about 60 scientists, experts and entrepreneurs from China and abroad attended the symposium, and the main themes of the symposium were System & Strategy, Material & Component, and Key Tech & Fundamental.

After the symposium, the invited guests visited the Fuel Cells Department of DICP.
