Foundation Stone Laid for Xiaoxiang Film Group Mansion

Foundation stone was laid for the Xiaoxiang Film Group Mansion, a key project of Hunan Radio and Television Center during the "Twelfth Five-year Plan" period (2011-2015), on Dec. 20 in the yard of Xiaoxiang Film Group Corporation.

Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee Lu Jianping, Vice Governor of Hunan Province Guo Kailang and other provincial leaders attended the foundation-laying ceremony.

Transformed from Hunan Film Studio, Xiaoxiang Film Group was officially founded in 1958 as one of the eight film corporations in China and grows to be the most influential state-owned production houses in central China.

The mansion is an important project for the corporation's endeavor to boost the film industry after its transformation into an enterprise.

The building is expected to rise some 100 meters high as one of the new cultural landmarks in downtown Changsha.

Xiaoxiang Film Group Mansion is designed to undertake such functions as film production, television program designing and broadcasting, cinema projecting, cultural innovation, cultural products display and international cultural communication.
