Han Yongwen, vice governor of Hunan Province, met in Changsha with the delegation led by Ohm Ki-sung, consul-general of the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Wuhan, Kim Hae Soo, president of Shinhan Bank China on December 29, 2010. The two sides held a talk about financial cooperation and the establishment of the branch of Shinhan Bank in Changsha.
Mr. Han extended his welcome to the South Korean guests and briefed them on the achievements Hunan has made in economic and social development. He said that the province has been optimizing the environment for economic development, and accelerating the pace of undertaking coastal industrial transfer. The province's rapid development and bright prospects provide a ripe opportunity for the bank to open its branch in Hunan. He expected to speed up the establishment of the bank in the province, integrate such resources as capital, industries, technologies and markets, and further enhance mutual cooperation in engineering machinery, culture, tourism, and environmental protection so as to achieve a win-win result.
Ohm Ki-sung extended his gratitude to Mr. Han. He said that his country cherishes the ties with Hunan and there is much space for mutual cooperation. He hoped to encourage more competitive South Korean enterprises to invest in Hunan and attract more Chinese enterprises to develop in South Korea via Shinhan Bank's financial support.
