Mr. Pierre Ferring inspects the lighting effects of The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg
On August 20, 2009, Mr. Pierre Ferring, Consulate-General of Luxembourg in Shanghai, paid an inspection visit to the Luxembourg Pavilion contracted by Shanghai Baoye Construction Corp., Ltd. (SBC-MCC) for World Expo 2010. The leaders of the Project Division gave a brief introduction to the current construction arrangement, and assured the Consulate-General that, SBC-MCC would spare no efforts in performing its obligations. Due to the rainy weather in the past days and some technical difficulties encountered during the project implementation, the construction progress was delayed. In this view, SBC-MCC has taken effective measures and promised to conquer various difficulties to catch up with the original schedule.
Afterwards, Mr. Pierre Ferring inspected the east fa ade of the Wai-layout building to see the lighting effects of the installed knockout words on a trail basis. He wished that the light could be integrated with the building. On the east fa ade of the building, there are six knockout words reading The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg , with a size of 3.2mX3.2m for each word. These words consist of 108 pieces of weather resisting steel plate cut by laser. The magnesium-neon strip lamps made by NVC Lighting Technology Corporation are adopted for the wall. The lamps give out soft light, which are reflected by the copper plate, and seem to be the light giving out by the pavilion itself, reminding the people of the natural and primitive simplicity endowed in the forest castle.
