Last night, the Reception for CIGF 2010 was held at Dalian World Expo Plaza, which was co-sponsored by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, the Textile Industry Association and the Dalian Municipal Government. Vice Minister Chong Quan of the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, Vice Chairman Chen Shujin of the China Textile Industry Association, Mayor Li Wancai, Li Jingrui, deputy secretary of the Dalian Municipal Committee of the CPC China, Chen Limin, vice director of Dalian People's Congress Standing Committee, Wan Yibo, vice-chairman of the Dalian Municipal CPPCC, Consul-General Shin Hyung-Keun from the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Shenyang, Toyama Shigeru director of the Dalian Affairs Office of the Consulate-General of Japan in Shenyang, other co-sponsors, representatives from state organs and other cities, participants from Italy, Spain and 13 other countries, regions and cities, entrepreneurs, exhibitors, and traders from 20 other Chinese cities attended the reception and watched the fashion show. Cao Aihua, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Dalian Committee and vice mayor, presided over the reception.
In his speech, Chen Shujin said that CIGF was the first exhibition for garments and textiles in China that has been upgraded to a national level for five years. With a joint effort, it has been getting better year by year, has earned its reputation both in China and in the world and has become very important as the showcase of fashion brands and in the release and exchange of fashion trends from home and abroad.
In 2010, Chen went on, the Dalian Municipal Government did even more for the innovation of CIGF by improving the preparatory work. As one of the sponsors, China Textile Industry Association will continue to provide guidance and service from an industry development perspective, to collaborate and support the other two sponsors for a better CIGF, creating a real window and platform for the exhibition, trade and exchanges of garments and textiles, making a greater contribution to the further development of the clothing and textile industry.
On behalf of the Dalian Party Committee and the Dalian Municipal Government, Mayor Li Wancai welcomed the guests for the reception and CIGF 2010. He said that, through cultivation and development for more than 20 years, CIGF has become an influential fashion exhibition of Northeast Asia and enjoys a high reputation both at home and abroad. With Fashion Romance as the theme, CIGF 2010 will serve as an important platform for bringing overseas fashion brands into the Chinese market, a window for releasing fashion creations and fashion trends, a promotion and incubation base for domestic brands and an effective vehicle for the development of the local clothing industry, striving to create an important platform for presenting the charm of fashion and promoting commercial exchanges and cooperation. I believe that CIGF 2010 will no doubt become an important vehicle for the Chinese clothing industry to exploit international markets, and for world famous fashion brands to enter China.
Dalian has now entered a new round of greater expansion, wider opening up and further development, Li continued, we have been implementing the national strategy of opening and developing the Liaoning Coastal Economic Zone and speeding up macro-urbanization as well as the construction of Three Centers, One Cluster in Dalian. Last night, the reception was, for the first time, combined with a fashion show: 11 award-winning brands from previous China Dress Brand Annual Awards were presented in a performance of song and dance, adding splendid colors to the CIGF.
