On October 24, 2008, Dr. Bruce Arai, Vice-president and Prof. Erin Y. Tjam of Brantford Campus, Wilfrid Laurier University in Canada, visited CQMU through the introduction of Consulate-General of Canada in Chongqing. This visit aimed to discuss about the cooperation in the personnel training in Chinese Medicine and to explore the assessment system for the medical services of hospitals.
The Brantford Campus of Wilfrid Laurier University is located in Ontario, Canada, which is of an hour???s bus ride from Toronto. The university keeps creating new undergraduate programs to meet the needs of the society and the job market and has made great achievements. Health Administration, Law and Society, Environment and Society, Public Relations and Journalism are among the emerging fields of study in the university even in Canada.
Ms. Yang Hong, Director of Foreign Affairs Office had an in-depth talk with the guests on these two issues on behalf of our university. The leaders, professors and researchers in School Of Chinese Medicine and School Of Public Health of our university attended the meeting. The two parties mutually agreed on the pattern of cooperation in the cultivation of Chinese Medicine talents: Chongqing Medical University provides teaching staff and resources and Brantford Campus, Wilfrid Laurier University classrooms and teaching facilities.
