December 8, 2009 The first National Summit Forum for the Elderly themed Create and Share, held from November 11th to 13th in Qingdao City, released exciting news. The Hubei Association of Gerontology had provided to the forum 77 essays, 35 of whose authors were nominated as excellent ones. Essays from HUST, which had won the Excellent Essay Award, include Cultural Analysis of the Sharing Principle co-authored by Zhou Haoli, Liang Xunguang, and Gao Bocheng, The Long-life Culture in China by Zhang Kuiyi, and also essays written by Professor Li Peilin from Tongji Hospital, Professor Mao Dewang and Feng Zhengwen from Union Hospital. The Hubei Association of Gerontology won Organizational Award and the trophy was brought back by Liang Xunchang from HUST as the representative of this association.
This conference centered upon the theme of elderly culture, co-hosted by Gerontological Society of China GSC and Qingdao, having received 996 essays. Over 300 elderly culture specialists, scholars and senior citizen workers from all parts of China gathered together in Qingdao. Focusing on the theme of Creation, Sharing, Care and Harmony , they launched wide and deep discussions from such perspectives as the theory and practice, the transmission and innovation, and the creation and sharing of the elderly culture.
