HUST Alumni Forum was inaugurated at the auditorium of Building 8 on the evening of 26 March.Prof. Li Peigen,President of HUST and HUST Alumni Association, Mr. Zhang Bin, HUST alumnus and CEO ofWumart Group, and Ms. Xu Ying, Vice President of Wumart Group attended the forum.
Prof. Li expressed his gratitude to Zhang for his deep affection towards HUST and his care for HUST students. Li congratulated the initiation of the forum, hoping thatthe forum can becomeanother archetypal event together with the lectures on humanities and liberal arts as well as the lectures on scientific spirits and practice.
Zhang made a speech on Splendid Life and Splendid HUST, ushering in the new Forum. He began with discussions on how to achieve splendid life. "One does not need to aim too high but have to nourish ambition; a man cannot achieve a splendid life without ambition, and an enterprise likewise, " he was quoted as saying."Try our best to attain achievements for ourselves and for our university," he added.
The interactive questions and answers session after the speech brought the lecture to its highlight. The lecture then ended up with students' applause. Reluctant to leave, students were eager to take pictures with him.
On behalf of HUST, Prof. Li presented the certificate of lecturing at HUST Alumni Forum to appreciate Zhang's speech.
