Dec. 4, 2009 Prof.Duan Zhengcheng, Professor of Mechanical Science and Engineering, and Prof. Luo Jun, Professor of Physics, are elected as members of Chinese Academy of Engineering and Chinese Academy of Sciences respectively.

The Chinese Academy of Engineering announced this year's election on December 2. Prof. Duan is honoured as academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering.
Two days later, Prof. Luo also received the prestigious honour and was inducted into the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
This good news brought HUST's total number of academicians to eleven. Prof. Duan is the fifth academician brought up by the School of Mechanical Science and Engineering, and Prof. Luo is the first academician from the School of Science.
