On October 13, the sixth forum on the practice and progress of the public health was held. Mr. Liu Jiafa, the director of Hubei Provincial Center for Disease Prevention and Control, made a speech on the topic "public health: a long way to go".
Mr. Liu Jiafa introduced the situation of the practice and progress of the public health, and elaborated on the basic medical and health system, public health service system and medical service system. Mr. Liu considered that we are faced with a high incidence of multiple diseases, serious infectious diseases yet to be effectively controlled, an increase in emerging infectious diseases and food safety of drinking water and so on. He noted any one of the problems cannot be ignored, and must be resolved.
