Having signed a letter of intent with the Technische Universit t M nchen of Germany and the University of Pittsburgh of America to set up a Sino-German-American Biomedical Center which will be centered by the Union Hospital and participated by the three parts from China, Germany and America, the Union Hospital welcomed 6 experts, who were going to attend the 2nd Sino-German Medical Exchange Seminar and the Preparing Meeting for the Sino-German-American Joint Project, from Germany and America from Oct.
13 to 17. The Memorandum of Sino-German-American Biomedical Research Project was signed on the meeting with the Union Hospital. And the experts have reached research cooperative intents with the Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery, the Department of Digestive Internal Medicine, and the Department of Urological Internal Medicine, and have built a cooperative platform for sustainable scientific development.
The exchange of this time focused on the Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery, the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics, the Department of Urological Surgery, the Department of Urological Internal Medicine, and the Department of Hand Surgery. Five of the visiting professors were from the Isa Right Bank Hospital of the Technische Universit t M nchen of Germany, Prof. N ssler, director for scientific research of the Department of Traumatic Surgery, Prof. Guinta of the Department of Plastic Surgery and Hand Surgery, Prof. Steinburg, director of the Department of Obstetrics, Prof. Schnelzer of the Department of Gynecology, and Prof. Bauman of the Department of Urology. The other expert was Prof. Billiar, director of the Department of Surgery of the Medical Center, the University of Pittsburgh of the States.
It's the 3rd grand exchange program held by the Union Hospital with their German and American partners after their successful opening of the 1st Hospital Symposium between Union Hospital and Isa Right Bank Hospital last year and the Sino-German Exchange Week, Union Hospital in this May. The successful signing of the Memorandum of Sino-German-American Biomedical Research Project built a solid foundation for the Union Hospital to cooperate with the two universities and the hospitals in Germany and America.
In addition, the cooperative intents made by the departments and the German and American experts also contributed essential development to the international medical exchange of the Hospital.
