It was announced from the annual meeting of Orthopaedic Research Society ORS that Yang Qing, PHD candidate, class of 2007 of Bone Surgery of Tongji Hospital, received New Investigator Recognition Award NIRA this January in Long Beach.
NIRA was established by ORS with the aim to encourage and honor young scholars who have made achievements in the area of orthopaedic research. The society selects 10 eminent works from world submission and presents NIRA and a cash prize of $500 to the 10 first-listed individuals. This year, the society received 2757 papers. Yang's three first-listed papers and three second-listed papers were included in the annual meeting and one first-listed paper received NIRA. Yang made presentations two times in the meeting. In addition, another first-listed paper by PhD candidate Qi Jun, class of 2008 of Bone Surgery of Tongji Hospital was also included in ORS annual meeting.
Yang Qing is a PhD candidate Sponsored by China Scholarship Council Program for Doctoral Students. Yang's domestic doctoral supervisor is Dr. Chen Anming. Yang studied in Dr. Bing Wang s Molecular Therapeutics Laboratory, University of Pittsburgh from Jan 2009 to Jan 2011. Now Yang has published one paper IF=6.239 on Molecular Therapy as the second author and submitted a paper to Gene Therapy as the first author.
