Overseas Alumnus Wins 2 Awards

Associate Professor Xiang Huiyun, member of overseas alumni council of Tongji Medical School and second editor of Tongji Overseas Alumni s Research Proceedings Selection, wins two awards namely Outstanding Scientist and Outstanding Supervisor of 2010 at Children s Hospital Institution of Ohio State University Medical School where he works. He is the only researcher who is titled these two awards at the same time in this institution so far.

Xiang said, I am honored and humbled by the two awards. He thought the awards were an affirmation of what his research team did last year and that this was not the end of his academic career but a new start to go for a higher goal. Xiang believed that the 8-year study and 4-year teaching and research life at Tongji Medical School laid a solid foundation for his academic research. Every elderly professor s strict academic attitude influenced him deeply and he appreciated the training from Tongji Medical School and instructions from professors and colleagues.

It is said that Children s Hospital Institution of Ohio State University Medical School is one of the best independent children institutions. The Outstanding Scientist and Outstanding Supervisor awards are set for professors by this institution. Award-winners are strictly selected and evaluated by the independent review committee before the final decision. The institution director will officially announce the winners on the general assembly for the year-end review .
