From June 20th to 26th, invited by the Canadian Association of College and University Student Services CACUSS and the University of Alberta, a delegation led Prof. Fang Hongjian, Vice-President for students affairs, attended the annual meeting of CACUSS, and visited the University of Alberta, the University of Waterloo, and the University of Toronto. From June 21th to 23th, the delegation attended the annual conference of CACUSS hosted by the University of Alberta in Edmonton. In the meeting, Fang gave a speech entitled The Advent of Student Affairs and the Professional Model in China. He introduced the recent development of Chinese universities in student development and service, and the development pattern of professionalizing and specializing student instructors with Chinese characteristics. At the University of Alberta, they mainly investigated student affairs work and held discussion with Prof. Frank Robinson, the Vice-President in charge of student affairs, about the guiding of student development and the governing of student affairs. Fang as the secretary-general of Chinese University Instructors Work met Dr. Newman David, the President of the Association of Canadian University StudentAffairs and Service.
