Tong Shaoxun, a senior student in College of Resources and Environmental Sciences, NAU, was recently granted a patent for Waterproof Shield, which has been examined by State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO). This is his third piece of National utility model patent following his Dual Flow Regulating Valve of Porous Belt Conveyor and Flow Regulating Valve for Water Heating. Qian Baoying, staff in Science and Technology Department, NAU, provided guidance in the application and declaration of the patents.

Inspired by various knowledges in and out of class, Tong Shaoxun is observant and shows strong interests in scientific invention. Mist Spray Cup (patent number 200910029908) is currently being examined and approved by SIPO. If authorized, it would become his first national invention patent while at university.
