On March 3, 2008, Prof. SUN Qingyun, associate director of US-China Center at West Virginia University (WVU), visited CUMT, and Prof.GE Shirong, president of CUMT, welcomed him on Nanhu campus.
On behalf of CUMT, Prof. GE made a brief introduction to CUMT, especially in the university s scientific research and international cooperation. He said: In recent years, CUMT has set up many cooperation links with foreign universities in the areas of student cultivation, teacher training and academic exchanges. I hope we can establish a close cooperation relationship between CUMT and WVU in the area of energy research in the near future. Prof. SUN introduced WVU and his research projects.
During his visit, Prof. SUN delivered a presentation titled Coal liquefaction development and CO2 challenges faced by the United States and discussed the issues about China s energy policy and intellectual property rights with professors from School of Chemical Engineering and engineers from nearby mining companies.
