President Muhammad Nawaz of UVAS, Pakistan visit NAU

Vice-president Zhou Guanghong met with a three-person delegation headed by President Muhammad Nawaz of University of Veterinary and Animal Science, Lahore, Pakistan (UVAS) on 29th, June.

Zhou Guanghong extended welcome to the visit of the guests, and briefed on the history, teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international communication and cooperation at NAU. Zhou showed his admiration for the rapid progress UVAS has made in recent years and he also noted that the two universities with more than one-hundred-year history would have a promising future of cooperation in animal science, animal medicine and food processing. NAU would take the opportunity of this visit of UVAS to boost the cooperation in science, faculty/student exchange between the two parties. Besides, the delegation also visited Sino-US Joint Research Centre for Food Quality and Safety and a few laboratories in the College of Animal Science and Technology and the College of Veterinary Medicine , and had a face-to-face conversation with professors at NAU in related fields.

Founded in 1882, UVAS ranks 22nd among the 250 universities and colleges in Pakistan. Now UVAS consists of 5 colleges with an enrollment of 2,200 in the fields of Veterinary and Animal Sciences. Currently 20 foreign students from are pursuing their doctor s degree at NAU, 4 of whom have worked or studied at UVAS.
