The WUN Oral Health Science Forum opens on Aug. 3.
The World Universities Network Oral Health Science, Nanjing Forum 2009, sponsored by Nanjing University (NJU) and the Worldwide Universities Network (WUN), was held in Nanjing from August 3 to 5. This is the first WUN supported international academic conference held in China in the discipline of dentistry and biomedical sciences.
Upwards of 300 oral health experts from 25 universities and over 30 hospitals both at home and abroad attended the forum and exchanged views on Endodontic Therapy and Tissue Engineering.
After the opening ceremony of the forum, the Nanjing-Leeds Joint Centre for Oral Health Science was unveiled.

On August 4 the signing ceremony of the Agreement Between Nanjing University and the University of Leeds for the Purpose of Promoting Scholarly Activities Between the Dental Schools was held at Nanjing University. The two dental schools agreed to cooperate in scientific research, teaching and postgraduate training.

The Worldwide Universities Network (WUN), founded in 2000, is an invitation-only group of research-led universities from Australia, Canada, the Netherlands, Norway, the United Kingdom, the United States and China. The WUN provides financial and infrastructural support to member universities to promote student and staff exchanges, and develop international training programs and collaborative research work. In China, Nanjing University and Zhejiang University are the members of this organization.
