NJAU Pays Immediate Concerns to Its Teachers and Students Studying in Japan

A massive 9.0-magnitude earthquake hit the northeast coast of Japan at 13:46 p.m., Mar 11, 2011(Beijing Time), triggering a 13-foot tsunami and causing serious damage along the nation s coast. The powerful quake causes widespread concern among the world, so are NAU teachers and students.

So far, nine teachers and students of NAU from College of Horticulture, College of Life Science, College of Economics and Management and College of Animal Science and Technology, are doing collaborative research and studying in Japan. Soon after the quake, staff in Office of International Relations and College of International Education tried to get contact with them immediately to confirm their safety. Their safety and health were confirmed by themselves or their relatives. Regards from the university have been delivered to them.

Staff in Office of International Relations also showed great concern to the three Japanese teachers and two students at NAU.It is said that their relatives are also safe in Japan.
