At the 2010 National Conference for Science and Technology Awards held recently, Prof. Chen Jun of Nanjing University (NJU) s School of Earth Sciences and Engineering and Prof. Wang Guanghou of the School of Physics were honored with the second-class prizes of the National Natural Science Awards.
Prof. Chen Jun and his team are honored for their achievement in uncovering the evolution law of the East Asia monsoon climate.
Prof. Wang Guanghou and his team are given the prize for their theory and experiment on cluster physics.
Organized by the State Council, the National Natural Science Awards is the highest honor given by the Central Government in recognition of advancement in basic research.
