Nanjing University from July 6 to 12 held a series of Nanjing University Week activities in Europe to display the Chinese culture, raise the university s international profile and enhance cooperation with prestigious European universities.
During the Week, Prof. Hong Yinxing, Chancellor of Nanjing University, leading a delegation comprised of 12 senior managers and academics visited the University of G ttingen, the University of Southampton and the University of Cambridge and held Nanjing University Day activities at each university.
Professors from Nanjing University led a series of research seminars to discuss the research strengths of their respective departments, including Chemistry, Physics, Earth Sciences, and so on.
The Traditional Instruments Orchestra of Nanjing University travelled with the delegation and performed free concerts at the universities. Members of the orchestra also gave demonstrations of Chinese kung fu, calligraphy, paper cutting and other traditional Chinese handicrafts.
The delegation helped students and faculty of the three universities to know more about the Chinese culture and Nanjing University, and explained some of the opportunities for them to study or work at Nanjing University.
