The University of Hong Kong Delegation Visited Jiangnan University

On June 4, a 4-member delegation headed by Professor Tan Chongren, Chief Inspector of E-Business Technology Research Institute of the University of Hong Kong, paid a visit to Jiangnan University. Ji Zhicheng, Vice President of Jiangnan University, gave a warm reception to the delegation. Briefing the guests on the history and present situation of Jiangnan University, Vice President Ji highlighted School of Internet of Things Engineering at Jiangnan University.

He further expressed his hope to strengthen the cooperation between Jiangnan University and the University of Hong Kong and jointly develop the system of "perceiving campus" on the basis of relying on the talents of Jiangnan University as well as the industrial advantages in Wuxi. Professor Tan Chongren highly appreciated the viewpoints of Vice President Ji, stating that the two sides should cooperate with and complement each other, jointly apply for research projects from the government, try to achieve interactive combination among politics, production, learning and researching, and promote better and quicker development as for the industry of Internet of Things.

In addition, the two sides exchanged views on setting up exchange visits, cooperation in talent training and many other aspects. Relevant leaders and professors of School of Internet of Things Engineering participated in the discussion. After the discussion, the guests and the processors of School of Internet of Things Engineering had an informal discussion on the training of professional talents, and the cutting-edge information and technology of the Internet of Things.


Professor Tan Chongren currently holds the post of Chief Inspector of E-Business Technology Research Institute of the University of Hong Kong, CEO of Hong Kong Logistics and Supply Chain Management Application Technologies R & D Center, and Chair Professor of IBM. Having led the production of Deep Blue Research Group of IBM to compete with World Chess champion, he is also known as the father of "Deep Blue" father.
