An exhibition entitled Understanding the past and grasping the present is currently on display to showcase the calligraphic works by Wei Liang at Hall 5 since Mar. 17 until Mar. 30.
Wei Liang is member of the Chinese Calligrapher's Association, vice chair of the Calligraphers Association of Shaanxi province and member of the Shaanxi Branch of the Chinese People s Political Consultative Conference. Adopting the cultures of the Han and Tang Dynasties, the artist made innovation based on the tradition.
The exhibition comprises a total of 50 artworks covering such various scripts as cursive, regular and seal scripts. His works boast mysterious content and far-reaching influence. In fact, the calligrapher respects the convention but is not confined by it. Thus, his works reflect innovation and creation in simple and strong brushwork.
He lays a solid foundation in exploring and spreading calligraphic art, thereby reflecting humanistic breath of the harmonious society and mental outlook of the new age. The masterpieces are highly praised by the professionals in the artistic circle.
