Sponsored by the National Art Museum, the Central Academy of Fine Arts and the Chinese Artists Association, an oil painting exhibition entitled Love for the Pamirs is currently on display at Hall 1 until Mar. 9. The exhibition comprises nearly one hundred artworks including the oil paintings, the sketch and the watercolors created by Wen Guozhang since the reform and opening up in 1978. The most representative exhibit is a series of artworks reflecting the life of the Tajik nationality since 1983.
Wen Guozhang was graduated from the Department of the Oil Painting of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1965 and from post-graduate courses of the Department of Printmaking of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1980. He has worked in the alma mater as professor and tutor of postgraduates. In the past 27 years, the artist has gone into the life of the Tajik nationality at the Parmirs. Inspired by the zealous and enthusiastic folk customs and the strong-willed of the Tajik people, the artist has made new progress in the artistic education.
