Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) expects New Year celebrations to create THB3.6-billion in revenue.
TAT estimates 3 million tourists including 1.3 million foreign tourists and over 2 million Thais will go on holiday New Year s eve spending around THB 3.6-billion, up 5% from THB3.2-billion spent during the same holiday last year, as reported in TTR Weekly. There will also be 33 New Year s eve countdown events planned in 27 provinces across Thailand, following the themes of Siam Sanuk in December and Sawasdee Mueang Thai in January.
In Bangkok, countdown celebrations include Bangkok Countdown 2011 at Central World, Happy Together Countdown 2011 at Future Park Rangsit, and Udon Thani First Difference Countdown 2011 at Udon Thani Town.
