Jordan has signed up with Google to advertise and promote itself as a destination. Ten government agencies will purchase keywords from the search engine that will highlight their websites in search results.
The US$10-million deal will be spread over the next three years. In turn, Google will reinvest 25% of the total amount in Jordan s IT sector, as reported by eTurboNews. Google will also provide intensive training to the Jordanian agencies on the best methods of online marketing.
The agencies involved in the agreement are national carrier Royal Jordanian; Greater Amman Municipality; Jordan Tourism Board; Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority; Jordan Investment Board; King Abdullah Fund for Development; Development Zones Commission; King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau; King Hussein Business Park and Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority.
