A Delegation Led by Vice President Lei Yingqi Visited Universities in France and Germany

Four delegates led by Vice President Lei Yingqi from NCEPU visited National University of Grenoble, France, Electricit de France (EDF), Technical University of Berlin and Technische Universit?t Darmstadt,Germany from August 27 to September 2, with the aim to attend the conference organized by Project Management Committee of NCEPU-INPC Nuclear Engineering and Nuclear Technology and to build new partnerships.

During this period, the delegates met Jens Kreisel, vice president of INPC in charge of international affairs and other relevant department heads. The two sides exchanged views on the cooperation and management of this project, held beneficial discussions on some problems in the project operation and finally reached a consensus on how to solve the problems. As it is a Chinese-Foreign Co-operation Project approved by the Ministry of Education in a few number on Nuclear Engineering and Technology, NCEPU and INPC paid high attention to this project. The operation of this project is serious and productive. So far, there are two terms of graduates from this project, some of them go on further study in some famous universities in France and UK, others choose to come back to work in nuclear power enterprises in China. They are welcomed by employers. In the second stop of thei trip, vice president Lei Yingqi held talks with Ji Baide, delegate general of the Asia-Pacific region of EDF, and Zhou Suyan, senior consultant of the International Department. They discussed in-depth on the training of nuclear engineers and talents as well as the possible cooperation areas.

During the visit in Germany, the delegation was warmly welcomed by the department heads of Electrical Engineering both of Technical University of Berlin and Technische Universit?t Darmstadt. Prof. Anja Feldmann, head of Electrical Engineering Department in Technical University of Berlinand other professors in the solar energy field made a detailed introduction of their situation as to teaching, research as well as international cooperation to the delegates. Prof. Jurgen Stenzel, department head of Electrical Engineering, and three other professors in the field of renewable energy in the Technische Universit?t Darmstadt also detailed their situation. The NCEPU delegation also introduced the situation of our school to them, especially the construction, research, teaching as well as the international cooperation of the Greater Electrical Discipline System, which aroused great interest and high attention from them. They unanimously expressed that they were willing to cooperate with NCEPU on the aspects of cooperative running of school, joint programs on research and exchange of students.

During this week-long tour, NCEPU delegation has finished the established task and expanded effective cooperation with overseas high level universities, especially with the high level electrical departments and renewable energy departments.
