On September 26, the first batch of 20 AC prolusion diesel locomotive for Malaysiawas rolled-out in CNR Dalian Locomotive & Rolling Stock Co., Ltd. These three loco. will be delivered in October and the final deliveries are scheduled for November 2005. This is the first time that Chinese AC drive diesel locomotive come into international market.
The locomotives adopt AC transmission technology both in main and auxiliary transmission system, which has the advantage of rising adhere coefficient, better anti-skip and higher starting tractive effort. Comparing with DC motor, the AC motor features smaller bulk, easy maintain, higher reliability and longer life time.
The locomotives will be used in hauling passenger and wagon train in main line. The horsepower is 2,580 kW. The max. speed is 120 km h and the track gauge is1,000mm.
