Visitors from Sumitomo Chemicals Co.

Dr. Toshiro Ohtsubo, General Manager of Agricultural Chemicals Department of Sumitomo Chemicals Co.(SCC), Japan, visited DICP together with his three colleagues on 11th and 12th of January. The aim of Dr. Ohtsubo's visit was to discuss and implement the collaborative research program between the Research Group No. 1812 of DICP and SCC for the R&D of new types of agricultural chemicals derived from oceanic resources, as well as to establish the collaboration modes and the near-term objectives of the program.

Accompanied by Prof. ZHANG Wei of DICP, Dr. Ohtsubo and the other Japanese guests were invited to visit the Research Group No. 1812, which is engaging in the studies of oceanic biological products engineering. Then the two parties discussed in detail and reached an common understanding on the frame of collaboration, and promised to finalize the detailed contents of the program as soon as possible, so that the collaboration was expected to start after the Chinese Lunar New Year.

During their stay at DICP, The Japanese guests had a friendly meeting with Prof. LI Can, Vice-Director of DICP. They also carried out exchange discussions with Prof. ZHENG Zhuo of DICP.
