From September 24 to 27, 2010, a four-man delegation led by Professor Yinhong, Vice President of Yunnan University of Finance and Economics (YUFE), had a fruitful visit to Thai Nguyen University of Economics and Trade in V nh Ph c Province upon invitation from our Vietnamese cooperator and the university.
During the visit, the delegates were warmly welcomed by the vice governor and other senior officials. During the friendly talks, the two sides exchanged ideas concerning the current cooperation agreement and shared some thoughts about its future. Vice President Yinhong, also presented some general information about our university and introduced the most recent years international cooperation and exchange developments at YUFE. Professor Li Dingxin, Vice Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, then gave a brief introduction of what had become of the first batch of Nguyen students at YUFE. Currently, the 22 students have completed their Chinese training and started their undergraduate study or transferred to other universities. The vice governor expressed his gratitude and strong support to YUFE for our important role in human resource training. In view of the successful precedent of the first batch of students, this October, V nh Ph c Province will send another batch of excellent high-school graduates to YUFE. Vice president Yinhong said that outstanding teachers will be selected to ensure a first-class educational experience for students from V nh Ph c Province and that YUFE will endeavor to build the joint program into an excellent educational brand. Both sides agreed to identify YUFE as the study and training center in Yunnan for students from V nh Ph c Province. They compared notes about receiving the second batch of students at YUFE and about launching training programs for civil servants. Following the meeting, Vice President Yinhong and the director of the Human Resources Office of V nh Ph c Province signed a contract about undergraduate training.
The following day, the delegations visited Thai Nguyen University of Economics and Trade and had a meeting with the president, the director of the International Cooperation Office and the director of the International Training Center. Both hosts and guests presented general information about their universities, shared ideas about the exchange of teachers and students, and discussed the joint program of establishing a Confucius School. During the meeting, the two sides also signed a cooperative agreement and hailed the meeting as a significant one for both universities cooperation programs.
The visit was a very fruitful and practical one. It not only further enhanced our friendly relationship with our cooperative institution and university, but also further strengthened the foundation for future practical cooperation.
