SISU s French Department Deepens Exchange with French Universities

At the invitation of Dean Philippe Monneret of the College of Arts of the University of Bourgogne (UB), France, Prof. Yin Li, Dean of French Department of SISU, and Prof. Liu Bo from the Center for Comparative Culture of SISU, paid a week-long visit to UB from March 1 to 5 for inter-college and academic exchanges.

Mme. Benedicte Fortier, Director of the Department of International Relations of UB, Dean Philippe Monneret of the College of Arts, Mr. Souiller, Director of the Literature Research Center, Mr. Poirier, Dean of the French Department, Mr. Joel Loer, professor of literature, and Mme. Xiao Hong, Director of the Chinese Research Center, warmly received the guests from SISU.

The talks were cordial and constructive.

After careful consultation, UB and the French Department of SISU agreed to conduct deepened cooperation in the teaching of literature, linguistics and French. The colleges will cooperate to offer preparatory master s courses in administration and social economics. UB agreed to accept undergraduates, postgraduates and teachers from the French Department of SISU for further training, and to jointly offer PhD programs in the future.

Meanwhile, SISU agreed to accept students from UB to learn Chinese, and provide opportunities for teaching practice for students majoring in French teaching pedagogy. The two parties also agreed to have regular academic exchanges and dispatch teachers to give lectures.
