HUST Signs Intercollegiate Cooperation Agreements with UOW

The delegation from Australia's University of Wollongong UOW paid a visit to HUST on invitation between Oct. 21-23. Members of the delegation include Prof. Joe Chicharo, Pro Vice-Chancellor International , Dr. Bill Damachis, Head of the International Cooperation Office, Prof. Philip Ogunbona, Dean of the Faculty of Informatics, Ms. Rachel Weine, International Officer from the Faculty of Informatics and Dr. Xi Jiangtao, who was appointed as Guest Professor in the Department of Electronics and Information Engineering EIED at HUST.

The delegation was warmly welcomed by Prof. Lin Pinghua, Executive Vice-President of HUST, and Prof. Shao Xinyu, Vice-President of HUST. Chiefs from the International Exchange Centre, the School of International Education, the President's Office and the Department of Electronics and Information Engineering, attended the meetings.

During its visit, the delegation was shown around the Wuhan National Laboratory for Optoelectronics WNLO , East Nine teaching building, Broadband Centre and Internet Centre of EIED. Besides, Prof. Philip Ogunbona gave a lecture on Multimedia Information Retrieval to a sea of students and teachers of HUST.

After consultations with the International Exchange Centre, the School of International Education and the Department of Electronics and Information Engineering, on the afternoon of Oct. 23., Prof. Joe Chicharo signed an agreement on a Joint Undergraduate Program and a MOU of Selecting PhD candidates funded by China Scholarship Council to study at UOW with Prof. Lin Pinghua and Prof. Shao Xinyu separatively.
