Recently, the U.S. Consultant Certification Management Committee issued a number of Global Career Development Facilitator GCDF certificates. Thirty-four teachers including those from the College Students Career Guidance Center and the teachers engaging in students career education work acquired the certificates.
GCDF is a global certification system promoted by the U.S. Consultant Certification Management Committee, designed to foster professionals in the field of career development, career planning and career counseling. Those who obtain certificates in China will also gain the professional recognition throughout the world.
To become a qualified GCDF, one must receive the training courses about eight respects concerning the theory of career development, counseling skills, services and promotion, ethics, and case analysis etc., which extend 80 class hours. Only after possessing 12 core competencies such as the technical assessment, communication skills, and passing the tests of case analysis, can a candidate be awarded GCDF certificate.
The University attaches great importance to students' career education and teachers' training work on career guidance. During 2009's summer vacation, the College Students Career Guidance Center and the Beisen Evaluation Technology Ltd co-held a 7-day GCDF certification training course on the campus. The thirty-four teachers who participated in the course all acquired GCDF certificates.
According to incomplete statistics, so far 46 teachers in the University have obtained GCDF certificates. The College Students Career Guidance Center will continue to exert their efforts to improve HUST's career education level, and quicken the process of specializing and expertizing the employment guidance for students in the future.
