The China Association for Science and Technology recently nominated a batch of national scientific and educational bases. HUST's School of Physics won the honour.
The national scientific and educational base mainly refers to the institutes, facilities and locations relying on organizations of education,scientific research, manufacturing and services. In addition, the scientific and educational base is oriented to the society and the public with the function of scientific popularization and education.
The School of Physics boasts research centres such as Wuhan Gravitation and Earth Tide National Field Scientific Research Station of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Key Laboratory of Fundamental Measurements in Physics of the Ministry of Education, Hubei Provincial key Laboratory for Gravitation and Quantum Physics and National Education Demonstration Centre for Physical Experiments.
The School of Physics has been stressing on science popularization, organizing various popularization based on the Gravitation and Earth Tide National Field Scientific Research Station as well as the Physical Experiment Center and offering the youth the platform for science popularization and scientific quality cultivation.
As a non-profit scientific infrastructure, the School of Physics will keep on improving the scientific popularization education base, carrying out colorful scientific popularization services to the public, participating actively in the scientific popularization activities, including National Science Popularization Day, National Science and Technology Week, so as to make contributions to advancing public scientific literacy .
