The Sino-France Photonic Technology Seminar was held in the International Academic Exchange Center of HUST on the afternoon of March 19. The National Engineering Research Center for Laser Processing of HUST, the Laser Institute of Hubei Province LIHP , Wuhan Laser Association of Optical Valley of China WLA , the Business Department of French General Consul in Wuhan, the Agency office of Aquitaine Region in Wuhan and Route of Laser name of Science Park in Bordeaux co-hosted the seminar.
Presided by Prof. Zhu Xiao, the Dean of National Engineering Research Center for Laser Processing HUST , the seminar hosted around 60 participants, including scholars of HUST, directors of relative industries home and abroad and officers of above-mentioned governmental organizations. Some French giants in photoelectrical devices, laser equipments and optical instruments such as "P le de comp titivit la Route des Lasers", "Laser Cheval", "Phasics", "Amplitudes systems", "Imagine Optic" also presented and their latest research and productions were introduced respectively.
After the main report, several themed debates had been held for the CEOs of both French and Chinese industries to explore possible cooperation and programs of common interests.
The seminar is productive which not only promoted the international recognition of Wuhan Optical Valley, but also built a platform for those local industries to follow and trace international development and experience in this field. It also offered opportunities for bi- and multi-lateral cooperation and exchange.
It is quoted that the seminar was co- supported by L'Agence francaise pour le d veloppement international des entreprises UBIFRANCE and was the initial one of its kind in HUST in Wuhan.
