9 foreign experts from 6 countries were awarded Chime Bell Prize by Hubei provincial government for their outstanding contribution to Hubei economic and social development.
Jean Philippe Pin, from School of Life Science and Technology, HUST, won the honor.
He is the Director of IGF-Institute of Functional Genomics. The laboratory is one of the two internationally leading labs on Class C G protein-coupled receptors research. The world famous journal Nature Struct Mol Biol had a special coverage of the laboratory in 2004 Nature Struct Mol Biol,11:691-692 . Since 2004, he has worked as deputy director of China-France Joint Pharmaceutical Screening Center of School of Life Science and Technology. Since 2008, he has acted as overseas academic backbone of Molecular Biophysics Innovative Talents Introduction Base, HUST. He has attained fruitful achievements on the research of structure-function relationship of GPCRs and the R&D of its target drug.
Chime Bell Prize was launched in 1994 by Hubei provincial government to award outstanding foreign experts for their contribution to Hubei's economic progress and social development. It is a crowning glory conferred to foreign experts in Hubei province. Till now, about 200 experts have won the honor.
