The working planning conference for advanced clean coal technology of China-US Clean Energy Research Center was jointly held by HUST and Tsinghua University in Beijing on March 1st- 2nd. About 29 institutions from the two nations took part in the meeting.
Prof Zheng Chuguang, professor of the School of Energy and Prof Jerald Fletcher of West Virginia University respectively presided over the meeting as the co-directors of the two consortia. The meeting held discussions on the overall work of clean coal technology collaboration including carbon capture and storage.
A detailed discussion on the implementation of clean coal power generation, acquisition and conversion, CO2 storage and utilization, system integration simulation and assessment, and intellectual property was carried out. The consortia institutions agreed a detailed work plan and intellectual management scheme would be finished by March 15.
