2010 Summit Forum on Modern Interventional Therapy, co-hosted by Liyuan Hospital and Hubei Medical Doctor Association, was held on Oct. 16, 2010.
Nine topics had been deeply explored on the forum, such as, the development of Coronary heart disease therapy, development of interventional therapy for tumor, the current situation and development of minimally invasive interventional therapy for liver and gallbladder diseases, Method of intravascular interventional therapy for vascular anomalies.
It is cited that recent years have witnessed a fast development in interventional therapy. Now there are around 5000 doctors majored in this field in the whole country. More than one million operations have been conducted every year.
Targeting on the further development of interventional therapy in China, Liyuan Hospital, the affiliated hospital of HUST, has expanded its former Interventional Therapy Department to a DSA Interventional Therapy Center. A most advanced equipment for interventional angiography system in central and south part of China, named, Phillip Allura CV-20, has been introduced.
Meanwhile, a top-class specialist team has been organized to ensure the high quality of practitioners. All these have worked effectively to help Liyuan Hospital to form its own characteristics in interventional therapy, which is going to be called Liyuan-Model.
