The Hubei Social Science Meeting was held on November 16th. This meeting awarded the first 13 professors with the title of Hubei Eminence in Social Science HESS . Professor Zhang Peigang from School of Economics, HUST, was one of them.
Hubei Provincial Party Committee HPPC decided that the HESS was going to be awarded every other year. This award is expected to cultivate more influential academic leaders, manifest the strength of Hubei province in Social Science and expand the social influence of the provincially famous experts and scholars.
The approval of the HESS follows a series of procedures: universities and institutions applying, qualification examination, peer review and secret ballot, being reviewed by the Propaganda Department of HPPC and being approved by the Standing Committee of HPPC.
