South Korean Consul General in Wuhan Visits HUST

Mr. Ohm Ki-sung, consul general of the Consulate general of the Republic of Korea, Wuhan, visited HUST on Nov 16. President Li Peigen and executive vice president Lin Pinghua met with Mr Ohm.

Li extended his welcome to consul general's visit. He briefly introduced HUST's overall development, university strength and cooperative achievements with Korea. He mentioned the implementation of the rise of Central China will offer more opportunities for HUST to establish closer ties with Korean higher institutions and enterprises.

Mr Ohm noted, the Korean government attaches great importance to exchanges with Central China areas. Educational exchanges are the gateway to promote mutual cooperation. He pledged to greatly support HUST s cooperation with Korean institutions.

Later Ohm visited Wuhan National Laboratory for Optoelectronics. He praised the achievements the laboratory made and expected to enhance cooperation in the fields of optoelectronics.

Ohm also held talks with some Korean students. The students present are satisfied with HUST s study ambience and faculty strength, and think highly of the university s cultivating innovative capabilities.

In meeting with the consul general, Prof Lin said, HUST has great potential to work with Korean institutions and enterprises. The consulate general to Wuhan will help bridge the distance between HUST and Korean institutions and ensure a mutual benefit and win-win results in talents cultivation and scientific research.
