Prof. Hong Yinxing, Chancellor of Nanjing University, was awarded an honorary doctorate of law by the University of Waterloo (UW) on June 10 in recognition of his academic achievements as well as his contribution to local economic development.
At the award ceremony, Chancellor Hong presented UW President David Johnston with the Chinese version of his book Canadian Securities Regulation published by Nanjing University Press and two books by Chancellor Hong himself Market Order and Market Rules and Research on Economic Transition and Development.
Chancellor Hong had a meeting with President Johnston after the ceremony and later visited the Confucius Institute jointly established by Nanjing University and the University of Waterloo.
