Recently, the Organization Department of the Central Committee of the CPC announced the assessment result of the 2009 third batch of 1000-scholars Project . Professor Chen Feng, as a high-level professonal of Jiangnan University introduced from Hong Kong University, is on the approved list of selected persons. His research area is food bio-technology, mainly in microalgae bio-technology, the structure and characterization of functional food and functional factors of natural products.
The 1000-scholar Project is the shortened form of the Overseas High-level Talents Introduction Program implemented by the central authorities since December 2008. It is one of the important measures for introduction of overseas high-level talents. Centering on the strategic goals of national development, the plan aims to introduce around 2,000 overseas professionals in the next five to ten years for the national key innovative projects, key disciplines, central enterprises and key state-owned financial institutions, etc.
and give priority to the support of strategic scientists and leading talents who can make breakthroughs in key technology, develop new and high technology industries and promote the development of new disciplines to make innovations or start businesses in China.
