Sponsored by China Art& Entertainment Exhibition Center, an oil painting exhibition of Liu Yaming, entitled Century Fable , is currently on view at Hall 2 until Sept. 16.
Liu Yaming has a legendary artistic life. Born in 1962 in Neijiang, Sichuan where Master Zhang Daqian came from, studied in the department of film art in Beijing Film Academy in 1986. He was engaged in art design in several TV dramas and then devoted himself to oil painting. He held an artistic exhibition in memory of 100th anniversary of Van Gogh death in Beijing in 1991 and also held solo exhibitions in the USA and Belgium in 1994 and 2002 respectively.
The exhibition comprises a total of more than 20 paintings. Of them, a huge oil painting named The road to freedom , 3 meter long and 1.6 meters wide, is an epic masterpiece. It has taken the artist two years to complete this painting which consists of more than 160 characters. The artwork shows a striking picture of a disaster in which people behave very differently. Fear, desperation, confusion, hesitation or calm, all the mixed emotions are shown at the same time. The painting has aroused great reaction in the oil painting circle.
