Sponsored by the CPC Central Research Institute of Culture and History, Chinese Artists Association and Shanxin Provincial Artists Association, an artistic exhibition of Wang Qinsheng s works, entitled A Style of Integrating Ancient Charm with Fresh Mode is currently on display at Hall 4 until May, 4, 2010. As a student of Wu Guanzhong, an artistic master, Wang Qinsheng displays a total of thirty landscape oil paintings featured by good combination between traditional structure form structure and modern aesthetic elegance, all of which are on debut.
Wang Qinsheng entered the middle school attached to the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1960 and the Central Academy of Arts & Design (now it is named after Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University) in 1964. And then he went to the rural area for reformation through labor, where he became student of Wu Guanzhong. During that period, Wang Qinsheng made a lot exercises on paintings.
The artist is skilled in combining the brush, the ink, the dot and the thread of traditional Chinese paintings and the color languages of oil paintings and enriches new meanings to the ancient landscape. The works adopt the material of flax cloth measured between 2 meters and 4 meters.
