Heavy snow conditions have shut down London Heathrow Airport, leaving thousands of passengers stranded.
Airport officials have released a statement yesterday saying that it will not be accepting any incoming flights and is managing a handful of departures, as reported in Travel Blackboard. Ice and snow build up on the airport grounds have made it impossible to continue its operations.
It will take a few days for the workers to clear the snow so more disruptions on flight schedules are to be expected. Passengers are highly advised to check with airlines or the airport s website for updates before traveling to the airport.
