The Hong Kong government has given Cathay Pacific the green light to increase its passenger fuel surcharge by 10-15%.
Beginning March this year, short haul flight passengers will see a rise from HK$143 to HK$165 while international flight passengers will see an increase from HK$677 to HK$747. The Hong Kong government has released a statement explaining that as fuel prices continue to rise it would review passenger fuel surcharge applications on a monthly basis instead of its usual every two months, as reported by eTravel Blackboard.
Cathay Pacific is still seeking approval from the Hong Kong government for its petition to increase flights to Milan from four flights a week to daily.
