On September 25, 2010, at the invitation of CUC, Vice President Yuan Jun met and entertained Mr. Dominique Wolton, Dean of Communication Branch of French National Institute of Science, and an internationally renowned scholar.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed academic exchanges they have actively carried out since President Su Zhiwu paid a visit to France in 2006 and signed a cooperation agreement with Communication Branch of French National Institute of Science, showing a willingness to expand exchanges and cooperation. At Dean Wolton s request, Vice President Yuan Jun introduced the status of the Chinese Health Communication Research in detail. The two sides also made an extensive exchange of views in terms of the rise of China, the relationship between tradition and modernity, the significance of communication activities in the 21st century and so on.
Liu Chang, Vice Dean of Communication Research Institute as well as Director of European Media Studies Centre; Min Hui Quan, chief editor of CUC Press, attended the meeting. Film Commissioner Mr. Dai Linwei (Olivier DELPOUX); Library Commissioner Ms. Pang Weisha (Vanessa CARPENTIER) of Cultural Office of French Embassy to China, accompanied with Mr. Wolton.
