On the morning of Oct. 16, the signing ceremony of co-operation between South China University of Technology (SCUT) and Heyuan PAP division was held on the South Campus of SCUT. Some 250 people attended the ceremony, including PENG Xinyi, executive vice president of SCUT, HUANG Fumin, Heyuan PAP division marshal staff of SCUT team of Guangzhou Asian Games and all on-duty officers and soldiers of Heyuan PAP division.
PENG Xinyi, executive vice president, gave a speech at the ceremony. In his speech, PENG expressed warm welcome and sincere thanks to the Heyuan PAP division for their assistance in ensuring security for Asian Games events held in SCUT as well as confidence in their forthcoming performance in the security woek. HUANG Fumin, Heyuan PAP division marshal, expressed his thanks for the warm welcome and called on all officers and soldiers to observe the iron discipline and enhance their sense of responsibility in doing the security job with SCUT team of Guangzhou Asian Games.
It is learned that the 180 armed policemen officially stationed in SCUT stadium and gymnasium on Oct. 16 to undertake the security work. Since most of these armed policemen with good education background and rich experience are the Communist Party members, outstanding soldiers, training aces, vocation core members or proficient guarding personnel, they are an important SCUT security force.
